Afzonderlijk hebben Andy Platts en Shawn Lee van Young Gun Silver Fox hun muzieksporen ruimschoots verdiend. Zo is Platts ook zanger en componist van Mamas Gun en is Lee producer, componist en multi-instrumentalist. Op hun eerste twee albums, West End Coast en AM Waves, maakten we kennis met hun versie van melodische funkrock uit de jaren 70. De stem van Platts past perfect bij de mix van klassieke melodische Westcoast poprock en funksoul.De band maakt een perfecte combinatie tussen muziek en bands van weleer zoals America, Steely Dan, Fleetwood Mac, Hall & Oates en The Doobie Brothers, zonder maar één moment hun eigen stijl en visie te verliezen of kunstmatig te klinken.
